Protecting Police Officers From Covid 19

In the line of duty, police officers are constantly faced with new contamination hazards such as Covid 19, fentanyl, or other biological or chemical threats. Some are easily recognised while others like blood-borne pathogens, bacteria, and viruses are not.

At Hunter, we have developed our reputation as decontamination experts through our UK and Irish laundry and decontamination HunterCARE® centres which have been playing a key role in protecting our emergency services clients for many years. One of the technologies we use at our HunterCARE® centres is D7, this technology is recognised globally to be the world's most powerful decontamination solution and it is used by organisations such as the FBI, CIA, US Military, and various international law enforcement and emergency services. More recently the use of D7 is being supplied by Hunter throughout the UK and Ireland to the “blue light” sector.

D7 is the world's safest and most effective broad-spectrum disinfectant and chemical decontaminant. Prior to 2012 D7, formally known as DF-200 was exclusively for use by the US Military. The technology has since been licenced for commercial use where it has been deployed across various industries including emergency services, food production and remediation services.

On 26th March, 2020, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published its updated "List N" to include D7. List N includes products that meet EPA's criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes the disease COVID-19. D7 has gone on to receive DEFRA approval.

Since the outbreak of Covid 19 our team has supplied thousands of litres of D7 to Police, Fire, and Emergency Responders across the UK and Ireland which has become a key part of their deep cleaning and on-scene decontamination protocols.
